Swiss/Belgian chocolate company Barry Callebaut has finished the acquisition of the Mondelez Cóte D´Or plant in Halle, Belgium. Callebaut wants to capitalize of the “Made in Belgium”-Trend. Within the acquisition Callebaut made a contract with Mondelez to deliver over 30,000 tons of liquid chocolate per year on a long term basis.
The French retail company Auchan announced plans to sell confectionery products produced in Russia in their Italian stores. The products will be sold in 66 Auchan hypermarkets in 60 Italian cities.
