Belcolade, a Puratos brand – opened their first carbon-neutral chocolate facility in Erembodegem/Belgium.
Puratos-CEO Pierre Tossut commented:”Our Belcolade brand drives innovation, ensuring that chocolatiers, pâtissiers, and bakers have access to exceptional chocolate choices that mirror their values.” The factory operates with 100% renewable energy. Due to extensive underground rainwater storage it will source 90% of its water from collected rainwater. They also use heat recovery and heat pump technology.
