Orkla Food Ingredients acquires Laan

Orkla Food Ingredients has published plans to acquire all of the shares of Laan Heiloo, producer of ingredients in the ice cream sector. Laan is a family-owned company in the Amsterdam area with a turnover of 5.8m Euro in 2016. Orkla Food Ingredients CEO said: “This acquisition is in line with Orkla’s desire to grow in selected categories and markets where we see potential for further growth and synergies. We already hold a strong position in the Netherlands soft-serve ice cream market, and our purchase of Laan will also strengthen our foothold in the gelato segment.”
